De Nazarin Community Relief

Project

Scholastic Materials

Project dates: Nov. 2022 – Dec. 2022

Location: Kasanvu Slum of Makindye division in the Kampala district of Uganda.

Goal: $7000

This project will focus on supporting young school children. The aim is to provide the children with basic educational materials in order to properly participate in their classes and ensure they don’t miss school due to familial economic reasons. During this project, we expect to support a number of 259 students.
The women we work with for this project, have the sole responsibility for their children’s education, which can be incredibly challenging. A growing rate of school drop-outs within the community results in high crime rates which put security at stake.
Collectively, we plan on finding a solution for the long-term problems. However, for now, we can help by taking on a part of the single mother’s financial load. Sometimes, starting with the basics is the best you can do.
