De Nazarin Community Relief

Completed
Project

Portable Hand Wash Items

Project dates: 2021

Location: Kinawataka, Kasokoso, and Acholi quarters

The project was an emergency response during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic was at its peak and many people within the slum communities needed assistance to help them implement the guidelines by the Ministry of Health. We saw the need to come together to fight the virus and save lives by facilitating the community with education and equipment.

We worked together with our partners and identified those most at risk within the community. We did monitoring and evaluation and then provided the necessary support needed. This included liquid soap, masks, sanitizers, jerry cans, and hand-washing cans.

Results and Outcomes:
– increased awareness and knowledge around COVID safety precautions.
– helped sensitize the communities towards the fight against the COVID-19 virus in our community and saved people’s lives.
