Project
Briquette-Making Machines
Project dates: June 2022 – Dec. 2023
Location: Kasanvu Slum of Makindye division in the Kampala district of Uganda.
Goal: $15,000
We are aiming to fundraise $15,000 to purchase five briquette machines to donate to groups of marginalized youth interested in climate adaptation. These machines will allow them to learn new skills, improve their livelihoods and engage with sustainable climate resilience.
That amount of money will allow us to buy 5 briquette-making machines. If we acquire these machines, we will be able to empower 10 youths per machine. This means, through this initiative, we can engage, train and support around 50 young community members.
In the past, briquettes have shown promising results in replacing the existing conventional fuel like wood, charcoal, and other relatively expensive fuels.
