Our Projects

Our thematic
areas

In a bid to increase household incomes within the community, our main thematic area is livelihoods.

But what does livelihood mean to us?
In the simplest sense, to us, ‘livelihoods’ means increasing household income (opportunities). However, we also believe and see every day that livelihood is a complex system that doesn’t only mean only one thing. We acknowledge that livelihood means something different to everyone depending on their current needs. However, in general, we want to work on improving livelihood opportunities for women and youth and to us that means increasing mobilization in the community to increase financial literacy, instilling a savings mentality and improving the access to affordable finance opportunities for vulnerable communities. This will be supported by mobilising community members and emphasizing creating a community feeling within everyone involved. We are here to promote a learning and knowledge-sharing mentality so that growth never stays stagnant.

In order to accurately support women and youth, we acknowledge that we must also look into other themes that directly and indirectly impact our beneficiaries’ lives and potentially hinder their increased livelihood opportunities.

In regard to our projects, these themes are

  • Education
  • W.A.S.H (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
  • Environmental Sustainability

The findings of our monitoring & evaluation within the community have shown us that these three topics consistently impact the root causes that reduce livelihood opportunities for women and youth.
