De Nazarin Community Relief

About Us

Who We Are

De Nazarin Community Relief (DNCR) is a registered development and humanitarian organisation, founded in 2019 with its headquarters in Uganda.

Our charity is from locals for locals.

Our team is completely made up of locals from the communities we work in. We believe this is the best approach to keeping the agency where it should be: With the community.

We want to make sure that everyone involved with the De Nazarin Community Relief, right from our staff, supporters, and the vulnerable people living in poverty should feel that together we can make dreams become a reality. Our tactical and analytic approach helps us develop programs in response to the different challenges and needs faced by the various women and young people within our community.

Currently, our charity is run solely by volunteers who work with us part-time and full-time.

Our History

DNCR was established by us, Maureen and Stella, two motivated women from the Wakiso district. The idea came to life as a response to the everyday challenges we see and face as a community. These include a lack of economic opportunities, educational opportunities, poor sanitation, and hygiene, or climate challenges. These aspects hinder individuals from focusing on improving their livelihoods. Further, these challenges contribute to decreasing an individual’s well-being and delay the community’s economic development.

Although a small superficial amount of these challenges are dealt with by international humanitarian agencies, the largest and most important aspects are left unattended. With the need that is left behind and the enthusiasm and drive we saw in our community, we took the initiative to start DNCR.

So far, we have been able to support various local groups of women and youth through our programs, supporters, and partners. The livelihood relief and the positive impact we create in our community have been immense and we hope it continues as we strive to grow larger and more effective.

Our Partners

Local, national, and international partnerships

We believe that collaboration and knowledge-sharing is the key to success. That is why we do not work in isolation and strive to create and enhance partnerships at the local, national and international levels. We collaborate to promote the interest of all parties involved, never forgetting the main goal: reaching vulnerable communities with the desired impact.

Together we can work to promote gender equality and women’s economic rights, end violence against women and girls, create access to quality education, and promote W.A.S.H projects.
